VFW Post 7824 Veteran Support

You Are Not Alone

Help is available for Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, families, and friends facing a crisis, trauma-related stress, depression, anxiety, or overwhelming pain.

Veterans in crisis or those concerned about a Veteran can receive free, confidential support 24 hours a day. Dial 988 and press 1, text 838255, or use the Veterans Crisis Line online chat.

It Is Okay to Ask for Help

After trauma, people may feel frightened, anxious, angry, sad, numb, detached, unable to concentrate, or constantly on guard. These reactions are common and are not signs of weakness.

Many trauma reactions improve with time. When symptoms continue, cause significant distress, or interfere with work, relationships, sleep, or daily life, a qualified health professional can help assess what is happening and discuss treatment options.

Peer connection can reduce isolation, but it does not replace emergency response, professional assessment, counseling, or medical treatment. Reaching out is a strong and practical step.
