To clarify a recent change to Section 803 of the National Manual of Procedure, as adopted by the National Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
A new paragraph titled "Alternative Cap” now allows members, other than officers, to wear a baseball-style cap during meetings of the Post and District.
Here’s a quick summary of what that means: Can officers wear the baseball-style cap? Does this apply at Department or National meetings? Can the alternative cap be worn at a Post social event or casual gathering? Am I required to have my Post number, Department, or position on the cap? Can a Post or District design its own version or use a different color? Can both caps be worn interchangeably? What about members who hold dual roles (for example, Post officer and District member)? Can life members, All-State, or All-American honorees wear the baseball-style cap with their color designations? Effective immediately, due to safety and legality concerns, we can no longer allow non-service animals at the Post.
Only official service animals are allowed under the pavilion and inside the Post.
We will be reviewing options to safely allow non-service animals in the future, likely with no resolution until 2026. TBD...
Michelle and her staff are aware of this. Thank you. R, We’re excited to announce that we will begin live streaming our monthly meetings!
