Honor Guard Services

Honoring veterans with dignity, respect, and military tradition while supporting families and serving our community.

Service to Veterans and the Community

Community service is a founding principle of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. VFW members continue a proud tradition of supporting veterans, military families, local organizations, and communities across the nation.

The VFW Post 7824 Honor Guard provides ceremonial flag presentation services to qualifying organizations upon request for public events, patriotic ceremonies, and community activities.

Dignity and Tradition

Ceremonial Services

Services are provided based on availability, scheduling, and the needs of the requesting family or organization.

Memorial Services

Assistance with military honors for deceased veterans and support for families during memorial or funeral services.

Flag Presentations

Ceremonial flag presentations for appropriate public activities, patriotic events, and community observances.

Community Ceremonies

Honor Guard participation in remembrance ceremonies, veterans events, and other approved community programs.

Memorial Service Honors

The Post Honor Guard may assist families with military honors for an eligible deceased veteran. Available services may include the following:

  • A rifle detail to provide a ceremonial gun salute
  • A bugler to play "Taps”
  • Presentation of the burial flag to the veteran’s next of kin
  • Coordination with the family, mortuary, or funeral director

Contact VFW Post 7824 with the date, location, type of ceremony, and the services being requested. Please include your contact information so a representative can follow up.

Please provide at least 14 days’ advance notice whenever possible.
